Long ago, when the earth was created, there were earthquakes and volcanoes.

 The earth shook, the lava flowed, and the gases and minerals became solid.

 Mighty mountains arose, and the valleys and canyons lay below.

 Cracks and crevices moved the earth.  The land grew and the rivers flowed.
